Contacts logged between the Outer Rim and the Core Gate. Threat rating is measured in C64 sprite units per second.

01 / BESTIARY

Energy doctrine

One gauge, two jobs. Everything that keeps you alive also burns the tank.

02 / MANUAL

The Delta has no separate shields. The energy gauge is the hull — every impact carves it, and holding SHIFT for overdrive drains it fast while doubling your score and the scroll speed of the universe.

Spend it to move. Save it to survive. The gauge never forgives greed.

Regeneration kicks in a few seconds after the last hit. Salvage pods refill the tank; a drained ship survives exactly one more touch, so top up before the core fight. Overdrive is also the only way to bank enough distance score to matter on the table.

When the sector core dies the warp gate opens. Fly into it — the jump pays a full-sector bonus and carries your weapon level into the next lane. Dying costs one weapon level and one hull; the lane restarts.

  • Shock pulse (X) clears every hostile round on screen and wounds everything — save it for the radial bursts.
  • Escort drones (D) add covering fire and orbit the hull until you are lost.
  • Turret pods shield the core in the later lanes. Kill the pods first; the core is phase-locked until they are gone.
  • Tunnel lanes hide wall turrets. Scraping rock costs energy, not hull — but it stops you dead.
  • Mines drift until you come within range, then they hunt.
